Sydney Sehr Autoscopy

Image
Original Files Used:  Final Image: Artist Statement:  In this piece of art known as an Autoscopy, I have placed myself into what reminds me of a fairytale fairyland with lots of nature beforehand, and as well as the nature I have added. I feel like this image also represents me as I am a very outdoorsy person. Growing up, I had a fairy themed bedroom and this really sparked the inspiration for what I wanted to do. I was able to play around with tools, and colors, and really stick myself into a fairytale like I've dreamed of when I was little.

  1. I think this image would be really hard to photoshop myself into because all of the people are in the small mirror, and I don't think there would be any more room to add myself into it. 2.  I want to do something like this for my somewhere project because i want to do something beachy with water splashing and palm trees surrounding  3. This image is very funny to me because instead of making the little kid on the left taller, they made the dad shorter and fully fit into his pants which looks funny, and not natural. 4.  I might want to recreate this image because I like the idea of the picture frames because I have many picture frames in my room at home and at school and I love capturing pictures in them.

Sydney Sehr BW to Color

Image
Original Image:  B/W Version: 3 B/W to Color Images Triad:  Square: Split Complementary: Artist Statement:  In these pieces of art, I took a photo of me that represents my connection to the world, specifically in the city. In a city, I envision lots of people and that is why I feel connected to the world in the picture. I then changed this picture to a black and white photo. From there, I went on adobe color and picked out different palettes that I liked, and that I think popped. I wanted a pop of color because when I think of the city, I think of loud and busy.

Sydney Sehr Climbing Sierra

Image
Final: Artist Statement:     In this piece of art, I photoshopped a dog to be climbing the mountain, and changed up the colors and added my logo. The dog I selected was a husky, because it matches the snowy mountain theme, also my dog at home is a husky. This was able to help me learn more about the adobe photoshop tools, while also having a connection of my own to it because I have a husky. Overall, I enjoyed making this piece of art because it is very unique and fun. I also felt connected to this piece of art as I was able to pick the type of dog that I have.

Sydney Sehr Abstract: The Art of Design

Image
This image is of the photographer, Platon, after getting jumped by a guy in England. Platon is a foreigner to England, but was often referred to as a “bloody” foreigner. He then talks about how he was confused about him being jumped, exclaiming “why me” and a woman overhearing said “why not you.” This image brought me close to my emotions because first I felt awful seeing him all beat up, and the story behind it too is saddening as well. He now says he knows what it is to hurt after experiencing this, and that gave him empathy which is vitally important in life.  Seeing Platon all bruised and beat up made me feel bad for him. This picture being the aftermath of him understanding what it means to be hurt, leading to his empathy is what really made me feel emotional. I have not experienced this physical harm that Platon has, but I have been hurt times before, and I believe that is what made me so emotional, and able to empathize with this image.  My Image:      In...

Original Illustrator Logo: Final Image:  Artist Statement:     This piece of art is a spray paint like design of my previous logo that I made for myself. This is very artsy and represents who I am and how I represent myself in a fun and cool way. I was able to incorporate some of my favorite colors, and I like how it turned out in a street art type of way. This was great way to play around with some of the tools on Adobe Photoshop. I will now use this spray paint design on the rest of my work to brand it, to let a viewer know that I am the one who made a piece of art.

Video 1 Response:  After watching this first video, I have discovered the Lasso tool, which selects a part of an image you draw a circle around, then hit edit to remove it. I think I will be able to use this tool easily and frequently when I want to get rid of something, especially if the background is simpler. Another tool that I learned about in this video is the patch tool, which can be used for replacing a part of the image with another, which I also think I will need, and I will be able to use easy. What I found interesting about this video is that he would give definitions about what tool is, and the words in them which I thought was very helpful.  Video 2 Response:     In this video, he focuses using the Spot Healing Brush, which will clean up a surface. He gave a tip to make a new layer which is helpful. You can change the size of the brush, and then click which sounds pretty simple and I think it will come in handy. The other tool he discusses is the Patch T...

Sydney Sehr Poster

Image
Final Poster: Original Picture: Artist Statement:      I created this propaganda poster as a visual representation of the importance of good posture. I wanted to emphasize that posture can make you feel and come off as more powerful to others. I chose to go with this idea because in my original picture, I have a good posture holding what I see as a powerful pose. Also, I chose to make the word "up" bigger in the first line, to emphasize that the posture is what is up, and then I enlarged the "P" in power to make it bold and stand out, as "power" is a powerful word. My overall vision was for this poster to be bold, and I think I accomplished that with the color and word choices, as well as my picture choice.     Most importantly, I wanted this piece of art to show that you can be powerful, and even if you do not feel like it you can represent it with posture. I chose my words and colors wisely as I wanted this poster to stand out. The majority of propagand...
