Artist Statement:

I created this propaganda poster as a visual representation of the importance of good posture. I wanted to emphasize that posture can make you feel and come off as more powerful to others. I chose to go with this idea because in my original picture, I have a good posture holding what I see as a powerful pose. Also, I chose to make the word "up" bigger in the first line, to emphasize that the posture is what is up, and then I enlarged the "P" in power to make it bold and stand out, as "power" is a powerful word. My overall vision was for this poster to be bold, and I think I accomplished that with the color and word choices, as well as my picture choice.
Most importantly, I wanted this piece of art to show that you can be powerful, and even if you do not feel like it you can represent it with posture. I chose my words and colors wisely as I wanted this poster to stand out. The majority of propaganda I have seen has been negative. Although, I chose to make something more positive and motivating as that is the type of propaganda poster I would want to see. I hope to motivate others with this poster, because even while making it I have felt more motivated to be powerful.
